  • Festival Description: The exhibition features 108 sets of artifacts from the collections of the Guangdong Museum, the Hong Kong Museum of Art (HKMoA) and the Macao Museum, including China trade paintings, fine export silk, clothing, accessories and home fabrics, to showcase the Greater Bay Area’s landscape and silk production during the Ming and Qing dynasties. Visitors can explore the connections between the three places and stories of cultural exchanges between East and West through the Maritime Silk Road.
To coincide with the exhibition, Hong Kong artist Janko Lam has created a site-specific art installation, entitled ‘
    Those Days - Out There
’. It’s a studio outside the gallery that invites visitors to travel through the past, present and future from a fashion designer’s perspective, and showcases new fashion pieces to recreate the classics. HKMoA also collaborates with the Computer Aided Fashion Intelligence (CAFI) Research Group and digital fashion students of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University to host a virtual fashion show that combines new media technology with the creativity of teachers and students, allowing audiences to discover the silk exhibits from various angles.
