  • Festival Description: Xie Zhiliu and Chen Peiqiu were both leading calligrapher-painters of the Shanghai School in their own right. The couple matched each other in artistic accomplishment, and their works feature prominently in the Jingguanlou Collection of the Hong Kong Museum of Art. A carefully curated selection of 99 masterpieces from the collection is currently on display, showcasing the evolution of their art over the years. The exhibition also uncovers how this loving duo explored tradition while experimenting with innovation, and how they supported each other in their artistic pursuits.
    The local new media arts team Dimension Plus utilises an innovative artificial intelligence technology called ‘New Canvas’ to create a realm that depicts the seasonal cycle and the diverse painting patterns of the two artists. Through interactive multimedia, the painters’ desk is recreated to highlight their different creative processes.
