  • Festival Description: To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the HKSAR, Hong Kong Museum of Art showcases around 40 Neapolitan paintings from the Capodimonte Museum, its debut exhibition in Hong Kong includes works of 16th and 17th century masters such as Titian, Annibale Carracci and Artemisia Gentileschi. Historians coined the term Baroque to define Italian art during this period which focuses on high tension and realistic representations of emotions. Baroque artists were arguably the originators of immersive experiences. Their paintings are compelling and strikingly real, often immersing the audience in the scene.
    To complement the exhibition, Baroque music and soundscapes are designed for selected paintings. These aural elements add a new dimension to art appreciation and help open the door to Baroque art. Local artists were also invited to provide artistic responses with various creative media to the works of the Baroque masters, and missquai creates illustrations for the exhibition. Their efforts have enriched the exhibition with a Hong Kong perspective, bringing about an art experience that connects past and present.
