    Farewell My Concubine

    Wenguang Explores the Valley

    The Imperial Decree
    (preview) will be staged. The festival also features a re-adaptation experimental play,
    The Chairs
    , by Shanghai Kunqu Opera Troupe, and
    Sister A Da
    , a comedy by the Jin Liansheng Gaojia Opera Troupe of Xiamen City. Each production merges history and tradition with innovative stage technologies, highlighting the diversity and vitality of the art form through bold experimentation and a contemporary sensibility, offering new perspectives on the history, evolution and potential future of Chinese opera.
