  • Festival Description: The Chinese Opera Festival (COF) strives to curate quality operatic programmes for the audience, promoting traditional Chinese opera artistry and culture.
    The Festival will delight theatre-goers with an array of nine programmes highlighting different genres of traditional Chinese opera, including Peking, Wu, Sichuan, Kunqu, Cantonese, Han, Qu and Yue. Each performance will showcase the unique characteristics and splendour of Chinese operatic art in all its glory. The grand finale of the Festival will be a series of performances of traditional Cantonese Opera, which will take place at a large bamboo theatre constructed at Victoria Park. The Festival also offers a range of activities including talks, meet-the-artists sessions, exhibitions and Chinese opera film screenings.
