  • Festival Description: Cantonese Opera Young Talent Showcase nurtures new talents ranging from performers to backstage practitioners in the Yau Ma Tei Theatre. The Showcase is supported by revered industry titans as artistic directors, who offer hands-on tutoring to over 100 young talents. Phase 4 of the Showcase 2022/23 features 12 performances, including highlighted programme The Eternal Peony. The Showcase not only hopes to pass on the legacy to young artists, but also encourages new audiences to appreciate the true beauty of traditional Cantonese opera – the only art form of Hong Kong enlisted in UNESCO’s list of Intangible Cultural Heritage.
