Festivals Event Name : 300 Years of Cantonese Opera: The Beginning | The 53rd Hong Kong Arts Festival Related Themes : Chinese Opera - Arts / Cultural - Festivals Organiser(s) : Hong Kong Arts Festival Society Ltd Festival Description : The art of Cantonese opera will be on full display at the Hong Kong Arts Festival in a specially curated three-year series led by Yuen Siu-fai, one of the most esteemed Cantonese opera masters today, starring three of today’s most sought-after performers: Lam Tin-yau, Keith Lai and Wyborn Leung Wai-hong. The festival will first feature three thoughtfully curated programmes consisting of excerpts and full-length works showcasing ancient paichang operatic styles.
