  • Festival Description: ‘The Cantonese Opera Young Talent Showcase’ at Yau Ma Tei Theatre is dedicated to nurturing new talent in Cantonese opera, from performers to backstage practitioners. Over 100 young talents will receive hands-on tutoring from industry titans who serve as artistic directors of the programme. In Phase 3 of the showcase for 2024/25, there will be six programmes, with
    Red Silk Shoes and the Murder
    as a highlight. Cantonese opera is a UNESCO-listed Intangible Cultural Heritage, and the showcase aims not only to pass on the legacy to young artists but also to encourage a new audience to appreciate its true beauty.
