  • Festival Description: The annual National Day Concert, conducted by Vasily Petrenko, will feature the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra performing Folk Songs for Orchestra composed by New York-based Chinese composer Huang Ruo. His composition draws inspiration from a mix of Chinese ancient and folk music, Western avant-garde and experimental music, natural and processed sound, rock and jazz. Li-Wei Qin will join for Haydn's enduring Cello Concerto, alongside spring-inspired compositions by Delius and Stravinsky.
